Sacn or artnet

Hello,

I need to conect my s1 with vista with protocol sacn.
I use a node showtec net-2/5. I can use this node with artnet or sacn. When i connect vista with this node on artnet, all fine well!.
But when i change in sacn, doesnt work.
I connect my node directly in my laptop.
My ip adress it, 10.0.0.2 and sub mask 255.255.255.0
I do something wrong?
Thank you

What version of Vista are you using? (build number)

Does it work if you turn off wifi? - Updating to the latest version of Vista will solve this if the answer is yes.

Hello jack,

Vista 3 r4 build 1679, i do update now.
I run the build 1762.
Close wifi, same things, artnet work, but not sacn

What’s the IP address of your node + subnet mask?

Are you using a managed switch + have it configured correctly for IGMP snooping?

10.0.0.10
255.255.255.0
And the node is 10.0.0.2 same submask.
Thank you for reply

What do the 2 IP addresses say in your original screenshot?
Can you try disabling all network connections other than your 10.x.x.x.?

Also, what switch hardware and IGMP settings are you running :stuck_out_tongue: ?
(If you arn’t using managed switches that are correctly configured for IGMP / multicast you are basically wasting your time in terms of data on the network, you’d be better off using Artnet anyway).

Hello jack,
I have a little hub in usb-c with an entry rj45
I manage the hub in 10.0.0.10

I put the node into them, in 10.0.0.2, and the both in sbmask 255.255.255.0
For the artnet, its ok!
I try node directly into my laptop.
Thanks

I put directly nodde into my laptop.
Laptop is 10.0.0.10 and node 10.0.0.2
Vista autmatically adds artnet port
I disabled output artnet and adds network sacn
Vista doesnt send the output sacn

Thank you, have a nice day

so from expierence its probably a DHCP/ip issue.
I don’t know the real cause of the issue but I almost never can connect directly to a sACN node without any other hardware inbetween with vista but as soon as i put a DHCP server in the network (by running it as a program on my mac on the port directly or adding a router/managed switch in between) it automaticaly pops up in the patch.

you shouldn’t need to add it manually normally anyway.
