Does anyone know if I can run Vista on the new Apple M1 processor? Looking to buy a computer and wondered if that would work.

Hi Clark,
Currently Vista will run on the M1 machines using Apple’s Rosetta translation. This is transparent to the user so Vista runs as normal. We have not done any official testing on those machines yet but there are a few Vista users that have tested it themselves and have not reported any issues. If you would like to try it you are certainly welcome and we recommend performing your own testing before using it in a live situation.
We will be working on a native (Rosetta not required) build in the future, however we are currently waiting for our third party vendors to update their applications and utilities first before proceeding. At that time we will be doing our own official Apple Silicon testing. We do not have a timeline for completion at this time.
