Hi Braden,
We are not sure at the moment. We are quite confident Vista will eventually work on the M1 chipset but as of the time of writing we have not tested on any new Mac hardware. So to be safe it’s best to say no.

We are looking into purchasing one of the Macs ourselves so we can work on it. We can’t offer any time frames of Vista releases that will support this hardware at this time. We will update you as we learn more.

@jack.moorhouse So if I am reading this thread correctly the UD512 and Vista are compatible with Big Sur running on Intel macs but we don’t have any guarantee for M1 hardware yet. Just making sure I don’t misunderstand this thread.

@AVTech

Yes we support Intel Macs with MacOS Sierra to Big Sur.

Currently Vista will run on the M1 machines using Apple’s Rosetta translation. This is transparent to the user so Vista runs as normal. We have not done any official testing on those machines yet but there are a few Vista users that have tested it themselves and have not reported any issues.

We will be working on a native (Rosetta not required) build in the future, however we are currently waiting for our third party vendors to update their applications and utilities first before proceeding. At that time we will be doing our own official Apple Silicon testing. We do not have a timeline for completion at this time.

Hey! Is there any update to it running natively to the M1 Chipset?

Thanks

Not at the time of writing. As mentioned, there are actually quite a few other bits of software and plugins that Vista uses. We need all of them to also support the M1 chipset before we can fully move to it.

We still have lots of happy Vista users using the M1 Macs using the Rosetta translation.
