Will Vista 3.2 run on the new Apple M2 processors?
We have not done any “official” testing on the M2 processors, but don’t expect any change from the M1s. It’s still based on Apple Silicon architecture.
Currently Vista will run on the M1 machines using Apple’s Rosetta translation. This is transparent to the user so Vista runs as normal. There are quite a lot of Vista users that have tested it themselves and have not reported any issues. If you would like to try it you are certainly welcome and we recommend performing your own testing before using it in a live situation.
We will be working on a native (Rosetta not required) build in the future, however we are currently waiting for our third party vendors to update their applications and utilities first before proceeding. At that time we will be doing our own official Apple Silicon testing. We do not have a timeline for completion at this time.
