I want to make an effect where all the lights go from color to color, with a certain amount of time in between each one. Originally, I had a cue for each color and I had them set to follow after x seconds, but is there a way so that I can use the Smart FX to go from one preset to another, with the correct timing? I tried to use a swing color effect but it changes each fixture individually, not as a whole, is there a way to fix this?
You can absolutely do that! What you’re looking for is the stagger option, which allows you to adjust whether all the lights change at the same time or if they are staggered.
In the SmartFX editor, switch to the Sequence tab near the bottom, then adjust the stagger option.
There’s a lot of options here in the SmartFX editor, so feel free to play around with the different settings to see what each one does. That’s how I learned how to use the editor to create all different kinds of effects.

How do I make it so that the effect starts when I click on the cue? Right now, when I click on it, is starts somewhere in the middle, like its running constantly in the background, even while I’m playing other cues. Thank you!
I don’t remember off the top of my head how to do that. My guess is that you’ll need to play around with the phasing in the Advanced tab of the FX editor.
@jack.moorhouse would likely be able to provide some additional insight into how to achieve what you’re wanting to do exactly.
