It would be great to have the option to release an active cuestack from within the right click menu of the playback view.

If the playback is selected then this should be the explicitly selected list within the command line. You should just therefore be able to type “K[enter]”. Or the longer version “W(listnumber)K[enter]”.
Instead of wanting a right click menu, why not just single left click on the release button in the playback control toolbar?
