Hiya , we are planning on using OSC in a theatre space and would like to be able to fire cues from Qlab while keeping intime, a jump to cue would be perfect for this but i can’t see one listed in the R5 information. Does this exist?
OSC in Vista is primarily designed to control buttons and programming features only.
What I recommend is triggering a playback button on a virtual EX console and assigning it to a cuelist that’s separate from your main one. In this new cuelist, use the “Jump to Cue” command (Tools → Insert Command). When the button is triggered via OSC, it will launch the assigned cuelist, which then performs the jump to the specified cue, and the jump command can be changed without having to change the OSC command! If you have any more questions about this we would be happy to help you in real time here in the Vista Community Discord: Vista by Chroma-Q Community
Hope you can get it working!
OSC “Jump to cue” doesn’t currently exist.
We have noted it though, so it might appear in a future version.
The easiest way to do this currently is:
Create an actiongrid.
Add your cuelist with auto expand (or manually add the specific cues you want to trigger to cells)
Trigger the action grid cells via OSC.
This works well and is much easier to manage than dummy cuelists / inserted commands.
Yeah will use this method.
Thank you so much Jack
may i say that i’m pretty let down that a simple function like this isn’t implemented.
I’m happy there is OSC control finally and i get that there are very many parameters what need to be able to be controlled and that it is even more work to implement that.
But something basic like show control (/v3/cuelist/1/goto/15 or /v3/cuelist/1/release) would be one of the first things i would expect to be implemented.
with complex shows i think a workaround like with working with other cuelists or action grids is cumbersome.
Also i couldn’t find an up to date manual directly for the action grids on the main download page.
Is there one somewhere else?
Do i need to watch youtube video’s to understand how i can control a full qlist (150+ cues)?
Not that i need to “go” every of those 150 cues but i would like an easy way to trigger like 80 of them from qlab without the need of putting those 80 in an action grid manually… because if there is going to change something in a show that would be hell
“Skip to Step” and “Jump to Step” via OSC will be coming in R6, as well as other playback-related actions.
