Hi all,
I’m curious if there’s a free DAW out there that I can use to sync Vista to some audio playback. I use PreSonus Studio One, but it looks like it doesn’t support MIDI output. I don’t need anything advanced (I don’t really need to sync with music, either), but it would be cool to know if something exists.
It looks like Ableton Live is the industry standard, but it’s a little expensive

I use Reaper,
It has a very accommodating trial period,
Its very intuitive, I have used it to fire midi commands and Timecode

Thank you for your suggestion! Right now, a paid DAW isn’t an option, but I plan on buying Reaper someday 
I actually discovered that while Studio One can’t send out MIDI commands, it can send timecode. Put a little loopMIDI in there, and it works perfectly.
In the past I have use a rental license for Qlab. I’m not sure if they are still doing that but it was very handy and inexpensive to rent the license for two weeks.
Ah, QLab. I’d love to use it, but I don’t have a Mac
I believe it has a free version, but I’m not sure what limitations it has.
