I’ve seen the other post on the T4 but i didnt want to necro.
Would it not be possible to perform a mobo swap given that mobo has a PCI slot? Obviously the linux ISO would need to be updated but if that software was made open source would it not be possible to update the drivers?

In short, no.
It’s 22 year old hardware, just replacing the MB doesn’t mean that other parts (which have not been made in 18 years) wouldn’t fail. Many have tried to come up with options before you and they have all determined that it was not feasible.
Not to mention that nothing other than the OS at that time was, or will be, open source.
