# Serial Communication

I am using a USB Serial device to interface with Vista, the device name is /dev/tty.usbmodemFA131 (I’m on Mac). But, Vista does not see this as a valid serial port. It just says that no serial ports detected. Is there a filter placed on the device name-wise? Any help would be appreciated!
